The Xàbia Library creates the space for women and feminism

06 March 2021 - 08: 10

The Public Library of Xàbia has created a space dedicated to Women and Feminism. The department staff has carried out an exhaustive selection task of the books that were available in the warehouse, as well as those that were exposed in the different subject sections. The collection has also been completed with the latest news. All the works have been grouped in their own section so that they are within reach and easier to find.

The books in the Library cover various topics related to Women, such as health, work, workplace harassment, gender violence, empowerment, history, culture, art and the biographies of brave women. Lots of proposals to raise awareness and spread knowledge.

The Library unveils this space in March, linked to the feminist struggle. The space dedicated to Women and Feminism is available in both the Historic Center Library and the Customs Library.

In addition, a PDF brochure has also been prepared showing a selection of the news that can be lent in the libraries and a specific one that compiles all the books on the subject available in the two libraries. The two electronic resources are available on the public library page of the website of the Javea Town Hall.

The councilman of Culture, Quico Moragues, and the Councilor for Equality, Montse Villaverde, presented this resource and a special showcase that has also been prepared at the headquarters on Calle Mayor and in which you can find first editions of Valencian writers such as Maria Ibars, Maria Beneyto and Matilde Llòria from the 1950s
and 1960, as well as books from the same period that show the vision they wanted of women since the dictatorship.

You create a space for women but there are not all the books written by women, there are only those that you consider empowered, that is, you want to achieve equality between men and women by making a difference between women, this half of women works and this other one does not ... you make clear what your true thought is and you demonstrate the entire facade that you have mounted.

I suppose that if I gave you això it was because you perfectly connected the catalog. Could you tell me any author of them that are available? Could any of the authors tell me that, according to you, they have been left out? Clar, l'altra opció is that not in tingues nor idea and estigues parlant per parlar….

I find it a very interesting idea to put the books on this topic together in a specific winepress in the library. In my opinion, it is not a question of separating the books but rather of highlighting the issue given that we are celebrating Women's Day; and after all they are all part of the same collection in our library

Alma does not seem right to me
      Absolutely
Separating is not the solution to anything, it never was.
That "Postal Feminism" is only going to bring us problems.
You yourself may be in the trouble of collecting wages from something fictitious, I don't know, but that's what it looks like.
To join is to be in progress, there is no other way.

      • Victor says:

Hello Alma, this comment from Sandra suggests that you have committed a crime and, in any case, she defames you. I think you should take some kind of legal action. It is not acceptable for someone to say this barbarity without consequences.

  3. Merche sandoval says:

Oh my God, how crazy …… ..

They could also separate it between works by people of "color" and Caucasian people.

Between short authors, red-haired authors, authors from Betis and authors from Seville, between communist authors and right-wing authors… hand-wired, lame, cross-eyed, music lovers, ………………….

The stupidity of the leaders has no limits, it is already very clear.

Keep feeding this Black Hole with your votes, play the game of Absolute Evil.

Montse, seriously, this is EQUAL ?????????????????????????????????????? ??

    Pathetic yours, always.

    • Pau (FR) says:

Don't hyperventilate, Merche. It is just to donate visibility to a collegiate that has seen invisibility for all time quant als cultural phenomena. For each author donates that is given, of each era, you have a puc dir deu, d'homes. This is a reality that is only explicitly expressed by resoldre. It is a cridanera initiative, but it precisely responds to a situation that is not normal. The rest of the authors, the Betis, the Sevilla, the melòmans, the coixos ... all the eixos will continue to be available regularly. Teach the librarians.

      • Rachel says:

        Don't give lessons, Pau.
Let people think what they want.
Do not insult from your vantage point of the Absolute truth.
Bad business to feel the Truth of the West.
        Bad business

    Councilor for Equality ???
And separates the Library between Men and Women?
    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
What a big clown, what do you have to do to get a salary, right?
    In order.
