This morning, at the gates of Javea Town Hall, The councilor of equality, Montse Villaverde, Has read a manifesto to celebrate the 40 anniversary of the first manifestation of pride in Spain.
"In these 40 years, Spain has gone from being a country that pursued homosexuality and transsexuality, to become a world reference in the rights of gays, transsexuals, bisexuals and intersexers", Has read the councilor. The manifesto states that, although much progress has been made but there are states that have protective laws, violence continues daily.
The manifesto read asks for the approval of a comprehensive law of transsexuality that treats adults and children regardless of their place of birth, and recognizes that "acts like the east are still necessary to move forward, to make this world a place where violence and discrimination end, because love must never be repressed by fear, by the right to be, feel and want as you want and for a diverse and equal society ".
