The Association of Public Moorings of Jávea has joined the support of other public administrations so that the Ministry of Development reconsiders the decision to make cuts at the Manises Maritime Rescue base (Helimer).
The moorists have issued a letter to the Society of Salvation and Maritime Safety, with a copy to the Ministry of Development and the Department of Justice of the CV, to study again the decision that affects the emergency service of the Maritime Rescue Helicopter 'Helimer ', which, from January of 2020, will triple the response time from 15 minutes of departure, from the reception of distress call, to a minimum of 45 minutes, an increase in response time due to the change of the Face-to-face guards at the Salvage Control Center at the base of Manises, by the guards located at their place of residence.
This fact, as already published, can have a very negative impact on the coast of the Marina Alta, and in particular on the coast of Jávea, where so many frequent maritime rescue services have been providing.
In the brief of the Public Moorings Association of Jávea it is indicated that "It is paradoxical and contradictory that trip times are only tripled in this area of the Valencian Community, where the distances of the other helicopter bases are far from 224 Km (Base Reus) or 341 Km (Base Almería), and do not increase in the rest of the communities that have this service, as in the Balearic Islands, it has a helicopter with immediate intervention. "
From the Association of Public Amarristas (PXU) state that "tripling the acting time would put people's lives at risk" and request that "the necessary measures are taken that give the answer to a strictly minimal emergency situation with the corresponding face-to-face guards, as it has been done up to now, given that, otherwise, if any misfortune occurs that could have been avoided by increasing this time in response, they should not be surprised that relatives and society asked for explanations. "
From this group they have indicated that the other ports that will constitute the Federation of Public Moorings Associations of the Valencian Community will also file the corresponding complaint and explanations, in order to expressly express the disagreement and express rejection of this budget cut.
For a service that works and saves lives, its transfer is outrageous. It had to be the Generalitat itself as a block who could continue like this.
