El Javea Town Hall begins the expansion of the sewerage network and does so by projecting the first four collectors: two in the Montgo, another in Lluca and a fourth in the Cap de la Nao area.
This week the award of the drafting of the projects to four companies has been resolved. Ingemia Technical Office SLU with a budget of 13,794 euros will be responsible for drawing the pipeline in Montgó 1; Urbanistas Ingenieros SA for 14.157 euros in Montgó 3; Císcaro Servicios Aplicados SL for 13.334 euros in that of Lluca and Icosa Ingeniería Civil SA for 13.001 euros in Cap de la Nao.
In total, the Consistory will allocate 54.286 euros to the projection of this first phase of the project to expand the health network, a plan with which it is hoped to solve the problems generated by wastewater from disseminated areas and meet the requirements that marks the new Valencian urban planning law (LOTUP).
In fact, this regulation is much more restrictive in this matter and makes it clear that - as long as it is economically viable - the houses will have to be connected to the sewer system, and it limits to very specific cases the option of using an individual waterproof tank system.
As the mayor explains, José Chulvi, the City Council, responding to this regulation and aware that there are currently thousands of homes without connection, is planning a considerable improvement of the sewerage network to develop in the short term and that will involve an investment of about eight million euros.
The Local Administration will pay for the pipes while the connections will be in charge of the individuals who want to get hooked (be it new housing or existing houses that with the expansion of the network have it less than 100 meters).
“It is not only key at the environmental level, but also to maintain well-being and health levels in the future, and to maintain the development of Xàbia”, said the first mayor.
