The mountaineer Edurne Pasaban will star in a talk for the 8M in Xàbia

El Javea Town Hall, once, has prepared an extensive program of activities to commemorate and make 8M, International Women's Day, more visible. For this, different councils have worked together to make the struggle and figure of women more present in each of the areas. Under the slogan 'Together', the campaign for gender equality will start in 2023, joined by the Department of Economic Development, directed by Ximo Segarra, which has scheduled the Xàbia Emprén conference for March 7 and will give voice to three women in their presentations.

As usual, Xàbia will hold the institutional act on March 8, but both days before and after, the town will host talks, sports days, monologues or theaters where women are empowered. Among these talks, and within Xàbia Empren is that of the mountaineer Edurne Pasaban, the first woman who managed to conquer the 14 highest peaks in the world, known as the eight thousand, finalist for the 2010 Prince of Asturias Award for Sport, Adventurer of the Year of National Geographic 2010 and Reina Sofía National Sports Award 2010. The appointment will be on March 7, at 19:30 p.m., in the Multi-purpose Hall of the Portal del Clot.

Within the Xàbia Empren cycle, Pasaban will offer his conference 'Expedition to success' and will talk about demand, effort and the desire to excel as unavoidable values ​​to undertake any challenge -also professional- and succeed. Also, in this conference will participate Germán Agulló (co-founder of GDV Mobility and the youngest CEO in history to invoice 1 million euros); Inés Torremocha (executive sales coach, author of the book "La vida es venta" and member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Emotional Intelligence) and Loida Primo (entrepreneur, speaker and expert in Appreciative Mentoring and Coaching. The Councilor for Equality and Education, Montse Villaverde, has pointed out that, like other years, work has been done on a co-educational aspect with all the educational centers with workshops in the institutes that will now be in charge of translating into the protest action that will accompany the institutional act on March 8 at 12 :00 hours. Likewise, the mayor has mentioned the traditional non-comxicotetive Donut Race that this year will be held on April 23.

For his part, from the Department of Sports, the mayor Alberto Tur has expressed the support given to the clubs and has emphasized the campaign Donate i Esport that gives visibility to women leaders in different sports. Within this area, self-defense workshops, a Zumba class, a pilota game and a regatta organized by the rowing club will be offered.

Mayor, José Chulvi, has invited the citizens of Xàbia and the region to participate in each of the events and has highlighted the importance of continuing to work in line with equality, "although much has been achieved, there is still work to be done".
