The ACNCV remains unanswered by the Generalitat on the extension of the concessions of the Nautical Clubs

12 March 2019 - 12: 18

The Association of Nautical Clubs of the Valencian Community (ACNCV) has demanded the Councilor for Habitatge, Public Works and Vertebració del Territori, Mª José Salvador, to unblock the application of the new regulations on ports approved last December in the Law on Measures Prosecutors, Administrative and Financial Management and Organization of the Generalitat, which allows prorogation of port concessions up to 50 years, for which they have requested an urgent meeting.

Sports entities have taken this decision after receiving no response after the meeting held in the General Subdirectorate of Ports, Airports and Coasts last 6 in February, during which their representatives committed to create a negotiating table to establish the criteria of the administrative procedure that the new regulations have to develop.

The sailors reiterated their offer in writing a week later to both the General Director of the branch and the Deputy Director and, to date, have not received any response. This reaction is not surprising given the "Absolute paralysis" of this department of the Generalitat, which since 2002 has not renewed any concession despite the fact that more than half of the nautical clubs of the Region of Valencia have their concessions expired and exploit the ports with monthly authorizations such as: CNCullera, CN El Perelló, CNVinaroz, CN Les Basetes, CNCosta Blanca, CNTorre Horadada, RCNTorrevieja, CNDehesa de Campoamor, CNMoraira, Club Náutico Jávea, Club Náutico Altea, "which generates legal uncertainty and makes it impossible to make significant investments to improve facilities".

Since the Association of Nautical Clubs of the Valencian Region regret that in the last 17 years only the Ports Act has been applied to raise the fees that clubs must pay "Thus suffocating many clubs, to the point that some have reached a point of no return" as is the case of the Nautical Club of Torre Horadada, which is already studying the reversal procedures.

The ACNCV hopes that this is not the real objective of this paralysis because, "If the clubs die of starvation, the first victim will be water sports". Likewise, he asks the Consellera d'Habitatge, Obres Públiques i Vertebració del Territori to "take action on the matter" and not to let the legislature finish "Without giving solutions" to a situation that is "Taking to the limit" to the yacht clubs that,
remember, "They are non-profit entities whose social function is the promotion of sports".
