09 June 2017 - 12: 41

One of the important acknowledgments granted by the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC) within an SEC-Excellent program is the National Certification of the Community Heart Failure Unit (CI) and this has been obtained by the Cardiology Department of the Department of Health Of Denia.

This program aims to improve the quality of care and assistance to patients with cardiovascular diseases with the aim of improving their prognosis and quality of life.

Only 15 centers throughout Spain have obtained this certification, among them, the Denia Hospital. The other centers awarded were: Gregorio Marañón Hospital, Reina Sofia in Madrid, Bellvitge Hospital, the Sea in Barcelona, Asturias Central Hospital, Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital in Granada and Hospital de la Fe.

The Heart Failure Unit of the Dénia Hospital has accredited all the required parameters and has surpassed the external, official and independent audit to which it has been submitted. The National Certification of the Heart Failure Unit will be delivered to all centers next June 12 at the headquarters of the Spanish Society of Cardiology in Madrid.

From the patient's point of view, this national certificate guarantees a multidisciplinary approach to heart failure, a pathology that is suffering more and more patients and which is the first cause of reentry in Spain. The collaboration between different services and units allows to treat in a more coordinated, effective and safe manner each of the cases that occur in the Department of Health of Denia.

Currently in the Department of Health Dentistry 165 patients benefit from the benefits of the SEC-Excellent program in heart failure.
