The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, has indicated that from this Monday a triptych will begin to be delivered that includes a vaccination card with data on the type of immunization received, the date or the number of doses.
The document also serves as proof of travel to vaccination and incorporates recommendations, such as maintaining precautionary measures against COVID-19 after vaccination.
It should be noted that the card has an informative value, so it should not be confused with the vaccination passport that the European Union wants to develop.
Mass vaccination
The president has also announced that this Monday, April 19, a new stage in vaccination will begin with the start-up of four large vaccination centers in the Valencian Community located in the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències in Valencia, the Palace of Congresses of Castelló de The flat, the Ciutat de la Llum in Alicante and the Institución Ferial Alicantina in Elche.
Puig has indicated that next to these spaces there will be vaccinated in another 18 points also specifically enabled for this, to which 48 additional points of proximity are added throughout the entire territory to bring immunization sites closer to the entire population. These points correspond to 48 basic health areas, with their corresponding health centers and to which are added the dependent auxiliary clinics, which makes it possible to avoid travel.
He also highlighted that only the 22 specific points, which will have more than 1.000 professionals, can administer more than 4.000 doses every hour. This structure allows the inoculation of half a million doses per week.
The president stressed that the 70 vaccination points, plus the auxiliary offices dependent on the 48 basic health areas, which have been arranged "are more than enough" to administer the vaccines that are arriving, however, he has assured that they could be increased up to 161 spaces, in the event that it were necessary "if finally there was an increase in the distribution of vaccines by pharmaceutical companies."
The Ministry of Health has highlighted the importance of respecting the schedule to avoid crowds, so it has requested the collaboration of the people mentioned to come at the assigned time, without anticipating, and thus speed up the process.
Double the vaccines administered
The president of the Generalitat has highlighted that in the last three weeks the number of vaccines administered has doubled, going from 640.000 doses to 1,2 million. "We would like to go faster, but the pace depends on the arrival of vaccines," he explained.
In addition, Ximo Puig has advanced that this week it is planned to administer more than 185.000 doses, of which the vast majority (68.000) are first doses for people between 70 and 79 years old, an age segment that will also receive 55.000 second doses. Finally, he has indicated that 16.000 vaccines will be used for second doses for those over 80 years of age and highly dependent, and 40.000 for the group between 60 and 65 years.
