Xàbia welcomes the month of October with the intense cultural and institutional agenda with which each year the day of the Valencian men and women is commemorated.
councilman Quico Moragues has detailed an attractive 100% free program that brings together performing arts, literature and music, this year with a special wink for children. Also, as usual, the Town hall will celebrate the anniversary with the delivery of the XXVI Vila de Xàbia awards, which this year will distinguish the Musical Art Center of Xàbia, Pep Segarra and Esperanza Salvatierra posthumously.

El institutional act will Friday, October 7, at 19:30 p.m. in the church square. It will be outdoors in order to accommodate all the winners, especially the members of the Centro Artístico Musical groups (band, orchestra and young band) who will also perform some pieces during the ceremony.
Programming starts this Friday September 30, at 20:00 p.m., at the Casa de la Cultura with the presentation of the book “Estimat amic” by Cristòfol Bisquert and on Saturday 1 (at 17:30 p.m. in the House of Culture) there will be a children's theater with the performance of “Paraules a les butxaques” by the Los Combis company.
On Sunday, October 2, the musical tradition of the Grup de Danses Portitxol will take over the church square with a stage show that combines dance with audiovisual. The performance will be at 22:00 p.m.
El Thursday October 6, at 20:00 p.m., the gastronomic book “Cuineres del territori” by Josep Bernabeu and María Tormo will be presented at the Casa de Cultura; and on Friday at 18:00 p.m. on the promenade David Ferrer del Arenal there will be a circus show entitled “Plumbing, circus and poetry 2.0.” by the company Jacinto Sifon Fontana.
El Saturday October 8 at 21:30 p.m. in the church of Sant Bertomeu, the Banda Jove of the Center Artístic Musical will offer an extraordinary concert on October 9.
El Sunday, October 9, the day of the party, will start with energy and a lot of rhythm thanks to the performance of the Ramonets group, which from 12:00 p.m. will offer a fun rock and roll concert for the whole family in the Plaza de la Comare Maruja Varó.
In the afternoon there will be two concerts by the Colla Portitxol as part of the cultural exchange campaign. At 17:30 p.m. in the church square, Bellaguarda tradicions Altea will perform together with the group of dolçaines and percussionists from Xàbia and at 20:00 p.m., also in the square, the Grup Portitxol will share the stage with the group La Socarrà from Xàtiva .
The October program will continue in Xàbia with the Scenic Arts Festival sponsored by the Alicante Provincial Council and which will offer performances such as the Musical Landscapes by Lolo García, the Saturday 15 from October at 20:00 p.m., at the House of Culture; the dance Rito of the Otradanza company, Friday October 21, at 20:00 p.m., in the Portal del Clot Multipurpose Room and the Señoras al bingo theater, by the company Improvidencia, the Saturday October 22, at 20:00 p.m., at the House of Culture.
