Schoolchildren from Xàbia participate and receive advice in the 'Health Days'

The multipurpose room of the Portal del Clot hosts for three days, the Health Days. A meeting organized by the Red Cross Jávea together with the support of different municipal departments and which this year celebrates its eighth edition.

The inauguration took place on Thursday morning and during the day the students from the schools participated: Port de Xàbia, María Inmaculada, Arenal and the International College. The head of the Red Cross, Lorena Bas, explained that "The schoolchildren are divided into groups and go through all the stands installed, each one with a different theme, in which different advice and precautions are given in each one of them."

At the Drug Prevention stand, the little ones are informed not to smoke. In the Healthy Eating section, they are told how to clean their teeth and what type of diet they should follow. Regarding the Road Safety Education workshop, agent Jeannine warns them of the importance of wearing a helmet both on a bicycle and on a motorcycle and putting on the seat belt in the car. Likewise, at the Sexuality stand, they talk about the development of the youngest with the changes they have to undergo, "The elderly are educated with the prevention of sexual transmission, the placement of condoms and in Equality what are stereotypes and machismo"Bas explained.

These days will continue tomorrow, Friday and Monday from 9:15 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. and on Thursday afternoon the day will continue in the church square with activities and workshops for all the public and at 19:XNUMX p.m. a talk in the House of Culture on childhood obesity.
