The 'Jugem a fer Jazz' Workshop, an activity aimed at the youngest

From the Department of Culture Xabia is to introduce children aged between 4 and 8 years in the jazz world through games, which is why they have prepared the workshop "Juguem fer Jazz". The registration is free and can be done by filling and some sheets that are available in the Casa de la Cultura. The deadline closes on July 20.

The objective of this activity is to create two groups of 15 students grouped by age (4 and 5 6 years and to 8). To participate you do not need musical training but calls for small accompanied by a family member.

One class of music workshop

The classes, which will be held in the evenings at the Conservatory of Music, will last an hour, 18 to 19 hours and will be led by Eugènia Savall Llorca, specializing in Jaques Dalcroze method. This based on music, movement and coordination system uses games and fun for children, inadvertently hardly account work so vivencial the basic principles of this musical style, such as rhythm, improvisation and creativity.

The mayor of Culture, Quico Moragues, has encouraged to take advantage of these fun workshops, which last year were held for the first time with great acceptance success.

"Juguem fer jazz"Is one of the activities parallel to the Xàbia Jazz International Festival (from the 6 to the 8 in August in the Plaza de la Constitución) that this year offers a program with names of the American guitarist John Abercrombie or the Portuguese singer Maria Joäo, or projects led by the Valencian pianist Dani Picazo or the Japanese singer Satomi Morimoto.
