17 July 2015 - 08: 37

Herick M. Campos, National Deputy PSPV-PSOE and provincial deputy secretary-general, described as very serious that there are municipalities in the province that have no guaranteed water supply throughout the day, while has claimed that this situation does not come motivated by drought, but by government cuts the PP that has paralyzed all hydraulic investments in the Marina Alta and Baja.

Inside the desalination plant Jávea

On the situation of the Marina Alta, Campos pointed out that the Zapatero government projected a desalination plant to Dénia, without ruling opt for an agreement between ACUAMED and Javea Town Hall to expand its desalination plant, assuming ACUAMED the cost of enlargement and creating a distribution network throughout the region.

But everything stopped with the entry of the PP in the government in December 2011. In fact, the desalination plant Dènia disappears from the general state budget in 2012 and 2013, reappears in 2014 to 275.000 €, to return to disappear in 2015, but also one euro is invested in pipes within the region or its connection with others.

Herick Campos wanted to make clear that, despite delays and cuts the PP, the water supply is guaranteed in Alta and Baixa Marina, but called for measures and medium-term actions to be taken to not gouge aquifers reserve and provide Marina Alta permanent water autonomy, retaking the ACUAMED-Xàbia agreement and a new distribution network. While, in the Marina Baixa, ensuring the production of desalinated water, improving connection Taibilla-Amadorio and making a mix of water between desalinated water and aquifers.
