The Riurau Film Festival successfully closes the 2020 edition

The last three days of the Riurau Film Festival took place this past weekend in Xàbia (days 11 and 12) and in Pedreguer (Sunday 13), the latter being the host town for the first time of the show. With a capacity subject to the Covid protocols, they were nevertheless almost completely veiled.

The festival will be ten years old in 2021, with the intention of celebrating it with special news and continuing to grow.

The awards ceremony also took place during these screening sessions. The star award of the festival was awarded in Xàbia to the Macedonian film 'STICKER' by Georgi M. Ukovski, deservedly awarded as Best Fiction Short Film. José María Fraguas de Pablo, jury of the festival for his long career in film and television as a writer, director, director and screenwriter was in charge of announcing it.

Completing the festival's record, the Oceanogràfic Foundation's Environment and Sea Award was also awarded, which went to the film 'uNpACKAGING' by the Canarian filmmaker ziREjA. 'A-1606' by Ricard Peitx received the award for Best Sound and an exaequo Best Editing went to Mónica Mateo for 'You Can't Come Back Never'.

In Pedreguer, the last day of the festival, the Best Short Film in the Valencian / Catalan Language was taken by 'Els que Callen' by Albert Folk and by the audience 'Ca Nostra' by Majorcan Laia Foquet.

L'Escola de Cinema Riurau, which begins classes again now in October, presented, as every year, the students' short films and this year distributed the award between two students, Manu Font and Jordi Dominguis, from the Xàbia school and Dénia respectively.
