From August 2nd until the 24th, the Archaeological and ethnographic museum Municipal, Soler Blasco, hosts an exhibition of paintings showing the French town of Thiviers with which the town of Jávea is twinned. Under the name "Pintures on Thiviers", the paintings have been made by the Mediterranean Painting School of Jávea.
2006 was the year in which the two municipalities signed the protocol official brotherhood between the two peoples, although relations date back to 1973 when school exchanges between the two municipalities that lasted until 1980 and those involved began more than 800 students. In order to publicize the landscapes and monuments of our twinned town, once the exhibition, the paintings all schools and colleges in Jávea and some public buildings will be given away.
