El Biomoscatell project of Benitachell it has been selected to be part of the project Erasmus + Learning for Biodiversity, To improve biodiversity in vineyards. This initiative, co-funded by the European Union, aims to introduce measures towards biodiversity in the wine sector and more specifically in organic production farms. The project plans to work closely with farmers around 50, including training activities and advice. They are to produce documents that address how to implement measures to promote the conservation of biodiversity, while comxicotetive production, quality and guaranteed sustainability is ensured.
Councilor for Agriculture and Economic Development, Manolo Segarra, Has expressed his satisfaction at the news of the selection in this European project and stressed that "Having been selected in a European project of such prestige is an indication that the Biomascatell de Benitatxell is doing things well"In addition, Segarra affected that,"Being in this project is another great step forward for all involved. Our farmers will know agronomic measures that favor biodiversity and comxicotetiveness, through training".
The project, which will run until September 2018, plans to visit each of the countries participating in the initiative. That is, it seeks to share experiences in the field about how organic viticulture can contribute to improving biodiversity.
