This weekend the area of Portichol de Jávea celebrates its festivities. These parties are born in 2010 from the initiative of some neighbors, Gloria, Isabel and Mavi, who decided to create a traditional, popular and participatory party, a "lifetime" party for the residents of Portichol and Jávea.
This year, as for four years, the festivities are the result of the effort of a group of people who have dedicated their time to make Portichol parties a reality. On Saturday, August 10, at 12:00 h. the entrance of the Murta will be held by d'Amics del Cavall de Gata. Entrance and in the afternoon, at 18:30 there will be a parade through the Portichol with "dolçaines i tabalets", at the end there will be a great snack for everyone. At 20:00 p.m. "Uncle Blas" will perform and will be followed by the traditional "Dansà de carrer" by Grup Portitxol and Colla Portitxol dolçaines i tabaleters. At night, at 22:00 the traditional "soup of cabasset" will take place and once the dinner is over the evening will be enlivened by the "Colors" orchestra.
On Sunday, August 11, the festivities will come to an end with a "wake" at 9:00 a.m. which will be followed by a lunch with a "torrent of sardines". At 11:00 a.m. Children and not-so-children will be the protagonists in a day of "cucanya i jocs tradicionals" for all. All acts will be held on the esplanade located in front of the Creit del Portitxol.
