The Poble Nou de Benitatxell has just completed the repair works of the 15 well located in the Montecala area of the Cumbre del Sol urbanization, to improve its infiltration capacity. The well and the sewage treatment plant were in a low area, so in the rainy season the water was channeled to that point, saturating the permeability of the land to the maximum and producing accumulation of stones and earth that obstructed the infiltration capacity.
The solution adopted by EPSAR together with the town hall del Poble Nou de Benitatxell has been to change the location of the spillway, redrill the well and place a chest to deal with episodes of heavy rain, equipped with a level detector and pump.
As explained by the municipal technicians, the treatment plant pours the treated and purified wastewater into the aforementioned absorbent well. Although the waters are already clean, the effluent purification process continues to take advantage of the natural characteristics of the subsoil, which favor self-cleaning and natural underground filtration.
The total amount of the works, of 18.880 euros, has been financed in an 90% by the EPSAR, with a contribution of 16.992 euros and the remaining 10% has been borne by the town council.
