The Poble Nou de Benitatxell celebrates 15 years of the Musical Spring

Spring is synonymous with music in El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. From May 16 to June 20, the municipality hosts the XV Spring Concerts Cycle with numerous proposals. This year, to commemorate the fifteenth anniversary of this festival, the Department of Culture has opted for a powerful poster, which
he leads the Opera and Zarzuela Concert of the Valencia Chamber Orchestra.

With it the Musical Spring 2021 the next Sunday May 16, at 18:00 p.m. ─all the concerts of the cycle will be at the same time─ in the church of Santa María Magdalena. This lyrical gala will feature renowned artists such as the soprano Teresa Albero and the baritone Rodrigo Esteves, and will be directed by Pere Molina.

Teresa Albero, Alicante soprano based in Xàbia, is a benchmark on the national opera scene. She was awarded the Palau de la Música de València International Prize and is also a pianist and a graduate in Musicology from the CSMV and in Singing from the Centro Superior de Música de San Sebastián Musikene. She was selected in February 2019 to participate in the Naples Opera Academy in the USA (Florida) and in the prestigious London Bel Canto Festival (London). He has played numerous leading roles.

Rodrigo Esteves is a Spanish-Brazilian baritone born in Rio de Janeiro. He studied in his hometown with Alfredo Colósimo until 1990, when he moved to Madrid. In 1998 he made his debut as Shaunard de La Bohème at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid. Since then he has sung in numerous prestigious works around the world. In April 2009 he received the Carlos Gomes Award for Opera and Erudite Music in Brazil as Best Solo Singer.

The cycle will follow the Sunday May 23 with the performance of the quintet 'Al Vent', also in the church of Santa María Magdalena, and the May 30 with the concert of Rebeca Martín and Hilari Alonso with the Rondalla and the traditional dances of the Comtat, this time in Plaça de les Pesqueres.

El 6 June there will be a short break, but the concerts will resume on Sunday 13 of
June
. That day it will be the turn of the Santa María Magdalena del Poble Nou de Benitatxell Music-Municipal Association, which will perform in Plaça de les Pesqueres. The 20 June The icing on the cake will be put by the OMA - Orquestra de la Marina Alta in the church.

The capacity of the concerts will be adapted to the current regulations of the COVID-19. "This year, after everything we have experienced with the COVID-19 pandemic and taking advantage of the fifteenth anniversary of the Musical Spring, we have given an extra boost to the concert cycle," said the Councilor for Culture, Víctor Bisquert. “In addition to achieving a very powerful poster aimed at all types of audiences (we have from chamber music to band music or popular Valencian), we wanted to show our support for the cultural sector that has had so badly this last year. We hope that we have achieved our goals and that people from all over the region will be encouraged to attend the concerts ”.
