The Poble Nou de Benitatxell will open on Saturday, 16 in June, the I Mercat de la Llorença in which he will vindicate the importance of women in the rural world. It is a market of organic and artisanal products that promotes the economy of farmers and artisans and keeps alive the agricultural and cultural traditions of the Marina Alta.

Only the recovery of the place name Llorença is already a declaration of intentions and differentiates this market from other similar ones held in the Marina Alta. The place name Llorença gives name to the massif of the municipality, but at the same time it is a woman's name. Hence, the Department of Economic Promotion has opted to pay tribute to the
rural woman with the literary and graphic creation of an imaginary woman, the Llorença.

Visitors can buy mountain honey, organic vegetables, sausages, craft beers, donuts, figatells and enjoy delicious tapas. The market will be open from 10: 00 to 14: 00 hours in the Market Square.

Councilor for Agriculture and Economic Development, Manolo Segarra explained that this activity wants to reinforce the feminist side of the place name "and for this the Department of Communication has created a very short story about a fictional character, that of the naturist woman Llorença. We have also built her image that will be the brand of the market and that at the same time will claim figures of traditional culture traditions ".

The story

"A long time ago, in the massif, Llorença was born, a naturist pope who lived in perfect harmony with nature. This market is a tribute to her and to all those who, like Llorença, love the land and know how to make the most of it ... "This is how the story of this new event begins.

The event will be attended by women representative of feminism and Valencian culture, among them: The writer xabiera Pepa Guardiola, Paqui Oller, president of the Cooperativa de Teulada, the writer and journalist Empar Ferrer and presidents of local collectives such as the Housewives.
