The Montgorock Xàbia Festival studies the 'Marko System' to celebrate the 2020 edition

21 2020 April - 09: 18

The management of the Montgorock Xàbia Festival is working on a new festival format that allows the experience of live music to continue to be lived, keeping the safety distance and incorporating certain measures to avoid contagion by coronavirus. It should be remembered that the Festival, which was scheduled for May 15 and 16, has been postponed to September 25 and 26.

This format has been called Marko system It would add measures that would significantly guarantee the safety and security for the attendees and could help to a possible celebration of medium and large format concerts and festivals, which are suspended in the current scenario.

El Marko system It would consist of the subdivision of small areas or 'Boxes' of 150m2 bounded by a fence of 1,50m in height. Each box would have a limited number of 50 people.

Limited services by zones

There would be an admission arch at the entrance of each box, through which it is only possible to pass with an electronic bracelet that would give access to each corresponding user without the possibility of access to others. This system would keep count of the attendees in each box, as well as those who enter and leave at all times. Every 4 boxes, would have a central bar that would serve the drink.

On the other hand, there would be a food service that would also be ordered in the same bar, there being a delivery service with trolleys through the different aisles to the bar and from there the customer is delivered.

The toilets would be placed in a row on both sides of the enclosure. Each box would have assigned a number of toilets that you can use. In addition, there would be security personnel indicating and controlling these accesses.

Sanitary controls

In addition to this new format for the distribution of the venue, different improvements would be added, such as the process of accessing the festival to help increase health security.

There would be a first bridge with a body temperature control of all attendees when passing through it, a second bridge for access control, and a third bridge, and when passing through the arches a hydro cleaning system would be activated -alcohol.

Once inside, the staff will indicate and help get attendees to their respective boxes where there will be access controls again by passing the bracelet cashless and the system indicates if you are in the space that you touch.

Likewise, as it is a new festival proposal, it could also have numerous advantages offered by this format, such as being able to be in a group and exclusively with a certain group of friends, as well as the price of the different boxes that could go depending on the location. or from the distance from the stage.

This project, which is still under study, aims to incorporate improvements that adapt to this new, unprecedented situation.
