With the unanimous vote of the entire Municipal Corporation, the new regulation of the Municipal Market was approved in plenary session, a document that adapts the previous one to the new regulations and reality of this public commercial space.
As explained by the councilor of the Mercat, Susana Ern, this regulation responds to the problems detected in recent times and solves one of the main demands: to facilitate the transfer of posts.
This change, in addition to being positive for the bidder himself, is also beneficial for the Mercat, since it will prevent positions from remaining empty until they are put up for tender again when someone gives up on a business or decides to leave due to personal circumstances.
This regulation also limits the works that can be carried out in the stalls, the conditions of use of the common areas, the obligations of the concessionaires or the circumstances that may lead to the opening of a disciplinary file, among others.
Another point that is reflected in the regulation are the statutes of the market vendors' association and a mixed commission between the collective and the Town hall in which the suggestions and requests of the dealers will be dealt with.
