'El Mag de Montrose' gives the first prize to the writer from Xàbia, Josep Vicent Miralles

Josep Vicent Miralles, journalist, writer and resident of Xàbia, once again achieves an award for his literary history. This time, The Montrose Mag, by Miralles, has been the work that has achieved the I Ciutat de Benicarló Youth Narrative Award. The Montrose Mag it will be published by Onada Edicions and will be a reality next spring.

The adventure novel is set in the XNUMXth century on the east coast of Scotland. Through the lighthouse of the small seafaring town of Montrose, Templeton Swan - the world's worst wizard - and his nephew Donald Brecc, will live a series of exciting adventures that will take them to the other end of the world. On board the cursed galleon L'Afortunada and together with Captain Grace O'Malley's ghost crew, uncle and nephew will arrive in Maracaibo to face a terrible enchantment and its secret demons.

This story recovers the real character of the Irish captain O'Malley, one of the most iconic figures of XNUMXth century navigation and one of the few female pirates who stand out in the privateer imaginary.

Among the other works of this writer from Xàbia, the following stand out: the adaptation of Tirant lo Blanch illustrated by Paula Bonet, The Kitchen of the Marina Alta and various writings, published in municipal awards and with which he has managed to win the first literary prize.
