Lambert's garden becomes the study area schoolchildren in Jávea

10 2014 April - 18: 22

The garden-forest that surrounds the house of the Lambert in the Portitxol is becoming these days the center of visit of the students of Jávea.

The garden is designed with native 100 plants and the one in charge of guiding the students through the hiding places of this forest is Ferran Zurriaga, retired teacher and expert of the local ethnobotany. In addition to its plants, the garden is also composed of stone and rough edges and hidden messages. Taking advantage of the visit the children have also known the traditional architecture of Xàbia thanks to the nayas, cisterns and wells as well as the time when the Lambert family arrived in Jávea.

Zurriaga has prepared a field notebook that has been edited by Town hall so that the boys and girls could guide themselves and write down what they were discovering. The Lamberts are a family of artists and architects of Swiss origin who came to Jávea during the 20s trying to escape the masses of modernity.
