The Institute of Secondary Education Number 1 of Jávea has won, among more than 2000 papers submitted, the Autonomous Health Contest with a project on smoking prevention under the title "Alight of snuff".
Yesterday, Mayor of Jávea, José Chulvi, Together with Councilor for Education, Empar Bolufer made delivery of diplomas to both students and teachers, who were accompanied by the Regional Secretary for Health, Manuel Escolano.
The educational project of students from the center simulates a subway line with the various problems associated with smoking as a stop; also it has a related computer application.
From the health committee, Pascual Martí, also wanted to convey his congratulations to the young people, who have encouraged them to put into practice the advice they recommend in their work away from tobacco.
Not surprisingly, as he recalled the regional secretary of Health, each year 53.000 deaths associated with snuff, despite which Spain still maintains a smoking rate of 24%. In this regard, Escolano has referred the importance of prevention and social awareness that is necessary to remind society of the importance of health.
