The Hospital of Dénia gets a new award. This time, for being the first in Europe to achieve the 6 level in the new EMRAM international standards of HIMSS Analytics, which means, the first to integrate the Electronic Health Record.
Last January, HIMSS Analytics launched an updated set of EMRAM standards with the aim of raising international standards and thus aligning with the crucial role now played by the binomial technology and information at the service of Health. One of the most demanding aspects of the new standards is to have an integral implementation of the closed cycle process of medicines, blood and breast milk, in addition to a high development in terms of cybersecurity, requirements met by the Dénia Hospital.
Thanks to the high degree of integration in the Electronic Health Record, HCE, Dénia Hospital has already achieved the highest distinction, the 7 level in the previous EMRAM scale, before the change last January. The new distinction demonstrates the Organization's commitment to digital transformation as a fundamental support for making clinical decisions and improving patient safety.
The Managing Director of the Department of Health of Dénia (DSD), Luis Carretero, has expressed his pride in being the first European hospital with the 6 level of HIMSS in this new stage, which is even more demanding. Carretero added that "When we decided to evaluate ourselves according to the new criteria, we were aware that the requirements would be more challenging than those of 2012. To compare ourselves with the new standards was a conscious decision and one more step to certify our progress ".
For his part, the Director of Systems and Information Technologies of the DSD, Vicent Moncho, has assured that "The new EMRAM criteria have been adapted to the present and pose a challenge as they force technological evolution, cultural change and mark a clear roadmap on how the hospital of the future should be. The new recognition is also the result of a effort of our professionals ".
The Dénia Hospital will receive this new distinction within the framework of HIMSS Europe 18, which will be held in Sitges between the next 27 and the 29 in May. The event, organized by HIMSS Europe, has the support of numerous partner organizations and representatives of more than 2.000 leading companies in the sector are expected to attend.
