In Xàbia, the number of active infections has doubled since last Friday's update to today, with 222 active positives and a cumulative incidence that exceeds 800 cases per one hundred thousand inhabitants. It is undoubtedly a critical moment, the worst by far since the start of the pandemic.
The situation in the health area and in the regional hospital is very complicated so:

• The Intensive Care Unit-ICU- has had to be expanded from 14 to 34 beds, as well as the number of beds in the hospital and in the Home Hospitalization Unit.
• Surgical activity has been suspended, except for the non-delay.
• The external face-to-face consultations of the Hospital and Specialty Centers have been suspended
• Primary Care activity is maintained
• The accompaniment of patients to consultations, tests and hospitalization is also suspended, except in cases of pregnancy and childbirth, minors or dependents.
From the Javea Town Hall they ask the population to minimize social contacts. "It is essential that we all commit to comply with hygienic measures (put on a mask, respect distances and wash our hands) and, above all, to minimize social contacts to stop this worrying rate of spread."
