With this new diagnostic technology, the hospital center will be able to perform around 100 COVID-19 tests per day, allowing the results to be known more quickly and accurately.
The Manager of the Dénia Health Department, Luis Carretero, the President of the Dénia Foundation, Antonio Sentí, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Health, Juan Puig and the Head of Internal Medicine, Patricia Martín, were present at the presentation ceremony. who have highlighted the great contribution, effort and solidarity of the Marina Alta foundation and society, as well as of all civil society during these months.
The analyzer, which has involved an investment of 40.000 euros, will increase the diagnostic capacity of the Dénia Health Department, "It has been an extraordinary donation, the largest project that has ever been carried out, it is a great contribution and a high investment donation, especially in these times of pandemic."
The Head of Internal Medicine has explained that this genetic material detection system will begin to be used next week, carrying out a double check to verify that there is reliability, and the following week, the first of June, it will work as an autonomous, being able to know the results. in about four hours.
At the moment, this analyzer will be used for coronavirus tests, but in the future it will be used to analyze viruses, bacteria and tumor cells from other diseases such as HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis, etc.
