From today Wednesday and until next Friday, the Hospital of Dénia hosts the IV International Congress of Art and Health Spaces, the only international meeting of these characteristics held in Spain and which will address topics such as Neuroesthetics, Music Therapy, Art Therapy and Education with the objective of relating disciplines in a sanitary context from a scientific and artistic perspective.
The inaugural conference was given by the journalist José Luis de la Serna, who has addressed the confluence between art and health from the point of view of Future Day Foundation, the foundation that he directs. In addition, the Managing Director of the Department of Health of Dénia -DSD-, Luis Carretero; the Commissioner of the Ministry of Health, Juan Puig and the Director of CIEAS and the Art Project of the DSD, Alicia Ventura.
The Congress will be held around five large tables that will talk about:
1 The Art Therapy Clinic, directed by Dr. Ana María Hernández.
2 Pedagogies of Contemporary Art in health contexts, directed by Dr. Marta García Cano.
3 Present and future of music therapy equipment in the hospital environment, directed by Dr. Alejandro March Luján.
4 On the origin of aesthetic perception, directed by Dr. Luis Martínez Otero.
5 Social commitment and philanthropy, directed by Mrs. Alicia Ventura Bordes.
In the early afternoon of Wednesday, the dissertations on Neuroesthetics, which uses Neuroscience to explain and understand aesthetic experiences at the neurological level. It will address, among other issues, the work of Visual Analogy, developed by the aforementioned Alicante laboratory.
Thursday morning will be dedicated to the Clinic of the Art Therapy, a table led by Dr. Ana Hernández where different experiences from theory and practice will be addressed, such as the application of Art Therapy in cases of psychic trauma, or home and hospital palliative care.
Special emphasis will be given to the cases of Dénia Hospital, which began to develop its project cuidArt a decade ago. It is a pioneering work in Spain, which works as a humanizing and therapeutic initiative of the health area, through art exhibitions, mural interventions, music therapy workshops, art therapy or theater.
Another aspect that will be treated during the afternoon session are the Pedagogies of Contemporary Art in health contexts. This is the case of Invisible Pedagogies, it is about making visible the learning that happens in an invisible way, a knowledge that is not explicit and that we incorporate in an unconscious way.
And the music therapy in the health field, it will be addressed on Friday. The congress will be closed by the artist Luis Martínez who, on behalf of the Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia, will speak about the transfer of knowledge and ethno-education of the foundation itself.
