With Alma & United is the new album by Ximo Tébar, the Valencian guitarist who will open the XVIII Xàbia Jazz and where he will present the latest topics. It will be August 4 on August along with North American drummer Nathaniel Townsley, bassist Nacho Mañó, ex-member of Presuntos Implicados and young pianist, keyboardist and vocalist Will Martz.
This new work is based on peculiar and progressive recreations of famous jazz standards. Tébar has included in this repertoire the novelty of new ingredients as the incorporation of gestures of the typical Mediterranean sound of Tébar mixing flamenco cadences, bright sounds and forceful rhythms within a pure jazz with a contemporary language full of surprise sounds.
And it is that, more than three decades ago, the Valencian jazz guitarist, composer and producer Ximo Tébar began to promote his own projects fusing jazz with Mediterranean music. The result of his extraordinary research work on the fusion of Mediterranean music with jazz has led him to be distinguished as the creator of the They are Mediterranean, a jazz sound with Mediterranean flavor and fragrance.
The Xàbia Jazz Festival of 2018 presents a total of four concerts from 4 to 6 in August that will take place in the Plaza de la Constitución at 22: 30 horas.
