After a year of hiatus due to Covid-19, the Sparhawk Folk The streets of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell are once again inundated with Valencian tradition and popular culture. Next Saturday July 3, Plaça de les Pesqueres will host the fourth edition of this festival organized by the Grup de Danses Morro Falquí.
Although with a more limited schedule than other years due to restrictions, it will feature a highly acclaimed performance: Pep Gimeno's concert 'Botifarra'. Thus, the day will begin at 19:00 p.m. with a Sample of traditional dances by the Grup de Danses Morro Falquí de Benitatxell and the music of the Rondalla Portitxol de Xàbia. Without a brotherhood dinner this year, the culmination will be put by Pep Gimeno 'Botifarra' and Ahmed Touzani with the concert 'De banda a banda del Mediterrani'. The teacher and professional dancer carries out a very important task of recovering traditional dances in the Marina Alta and with her work promotes, encourages and recovers the folklore, dances and traditional songs of the region that, otherwise, would fall into oblivion.
