This Christmas, Xàbia has the installation of a new Christmas fir tree. This is the sustainable tree, located in the Placeta del Convent and made by the students of the different schools in the town.
A total of 4.000 plastic bottles form this Eco-tree with the aim of raising awareness among citizens of the need to separate waste at home and practice the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. But also, the eco-tree comes with another message: to show the amount of single-use plastics that are used in our daily lives.
The idea of making this special Christmas tree was promoted by the company responsible for the cleaning and solid waste service of Xàbia.
The mayor of Xàbia attended the lighting of this sustainable tree, Rosa Cardona, the Councilor for Education, Mavi Pérez, the councilor of Services, Juanjo García and a group of schoolchildren representing the participating educational community.
Dommage noël c'est un vrai sapin avec des boules des guirlandes cela enlève beaucoup de la magic
Boff it's terrible! C est si beau un veritable sapin de noël.
I saw it yesterday and I thought it was great. Let's hope that when Christmas is over it is recycled correctly and not thrown into a landfill...
and I hope this structure is thrown in the trash before Christmas…
