The Xàbia Health Center calls for vaccination against Herpes Zoster

27 July 2023 - 13: 14

The Xàbia Health Center calls for vaccination against Herpes Zoster for those people
born in 1958 and 1943. As pointed out by the Health Center, Herpes Zoster is caused by the same chickenpox virus, after the disease remains latent in the sensory nerves. The reactivation of this virus causes painful, tingling rashes with clear vesicles, which usually last between 2 and 4 weeks, all accompanied by pain.

The incidence "is high" in the adult population so that more than one in 5 men and one in 4 women who suffer from the disease are between 50 and 85 years of age. The risk increases, they have highlighted, if they are associated with comorbidities, diseases such as: COPD, Diabetes, Stress, Depression, or cardiovascular diseases.

To receive the dose of this vaccine you can contact the Health Center 96 642 81 50 and through the Marina Salud Virtual Desk.
