This week the Consell Culture Xàbia met to meet the rehabilitation project of the Centra Cinema. The mayor of the municipality, José ChulviHe recalled that when dealing with an existing building their works will adhere to adapt the infrastructure the twenty-first century. As he noted by the mayor of urbanism Pere SapenaIt is a building that was built in the historic center of Javea on a plot of 360 meters and has a capacity of 350 people.
The works that will be undertaken in the Central Cinema will be the reconstruction of the dressing rooms and the toilets under the stage that will also be extended to the 7 meters of depth. In addition, a screen will be installed to project audiovisual content, removable chairs will be placed in the stalls to be able to remove them if space is needed and the old projection room will be maintained.
The Diputación de Alicante will tender the work that has an execution period of 9 months and the cost of the project will be a total of 930.000 euros of which 40% (390.000) will be subsidized by the Diputación. The project will be sent to all members of the Consell de Cultura so that they can make their suggestions at an upcoming meeting. This will prevent possible delays in the event of modifications in the project. However, the task of the Consell de Cultura will be to carry out a cultural management model for the Central Cinema, as the mayor said, a project of "people open to general use and of all associations".
