Baccalaureate and FP students will be vaccinated the last week of August

The Minister of Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló, and the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Vicent Marzà, have met to discuss vaccination and measures against the coronavirus in the educational field with a view to the start of the next school year .

In this sense, Barceló has announced that "vaccination of those under 18 and 17 years old, that is, high school and vocational training students, will begin the last week of August in the vaccination centers."

He also added that "from Health we are speeding up and anticipating the vaccination process. In addition, this process will be further expedited thanks to the commitment made with the Ministry of Health to increase the delivery of doses to the Valencian Community to compensate the vaccines to the displaced and the dose deficit caused by the distribution of vaccines based on age, a fact that has harmed the Community ".

On the other hand, during the month of August, and once the number of doses of vaccines is known, the vaccination of the students of the ESO stage will be scheduled, which correspond to the age groups of 12 to 16 years.

In this sense, as explained by the Minister of Education, Vicent Marzà "the teams of the two councilors have been summoned to a new meeting that will take place on August 6 to, once more details are available on the delivery forecasts and available doses, closing the aspects related to the vaccination of Secondary Education students ".
