The mayor of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Josep Femenia, and Councilor for EducationMyra Van 't Hoff, visited the state works to improve the CEIP., St. María Magdalena.
El town hall has taken advantage of the summer holidays to carry out the paving works, the renovation and creation of the indoor rubber playgrounds. Improvements have also been made in the classrooms to adapt them to safety regulations. The performance of these first improvement works whose approximate budget is 18.680 euros, will be completed before the start of the school year.
According to the mayor, "cement paving split-level guarantees the elimination of puddles at the entrance. With regard to measures within the school is significant improvements in the center, which will be ready for the new school year to the satisfaction of teachers, parents and students".
On the other hand, Myra Van 't Hoff, commented "as Councilor for Education and as a mother I am greatly concerned to improve the quality of school facilities. In early July we met with the technicians and the school principal to make a list of priority improvements. Procedures have accelerated and have aaprovechado summer holidays to attack them".
Both the mayor and the councilor of Education have expressed their commitment to carry out annual maintenance of facilities. They advance their intention to initiate the necessary steps to get a grant for the installation of LED lighting in order to achieve a decrease in school bills and encourage energy saving.
