Education agrees to carry out a global assessment that does not harm students

16 2020 April - 10: 53

Yesterday morning, the Minister for Education, Culture and Sport, Vicent Marzà and the autonomous secretary for Education and FP, Miguel Soler, had a telematic meeting with the Minister for Education and FP, Isabel Celaá, to discuss development and Course Evaluation.

At the Education Sector Conference it was agreed to carry out a global evaluation that does not harm students. In this sense, the Ministry will develop instructions based on a specific state regulation that the Ministry will prepare for the final evaluation of the current school year.

In addition, it was confirmed that the current school year will end as established in the calendar for each educational stage, either with distance training or with face-to-face classes, as determined by the health authorities at all times.

Also, at the meeting it was agreed that the priority objective is that students do not miss the course, so "The evaluation of the learning developed from the suspension of the face-to-face classes will be continued. With this we will assess the progress made and the delays that may have occurred to plan and schedule reinforcement measures for the next course", added the autonomous secretary, Miguel Soler.

In this line, the final evaluation will consider together the evaluations of the entire school year, and will focus especially on the degree of development of learning and the essential skills acquired during all school months.

Course-2020 2021

According to the publication of the STEPV (Sindicat de treballadors i treballadores de l'ensenyament del País Valencià), the start of the next course should adapt to the current situation of loss of content during this last quarter. Likewise, a reorganization of the curricula and of the didactic programs is proposed.

On the final evaluation of this course, the Union shares that this situation of confinement cannot take its toll on our students and the teachers have enough information and criteria to determine if their students should promote or if it is convenient, for their own good, to repeat the course.
