Mari Marí and María José Cholbi are two xabieras and artists who have had a good initiative. And is that to fill of life the Mercat Municipal Of Xàbia have exhibited their own works in one of the vacant posts thus giving a new environment to this historic shopping center.
This idea was undertaken by Mari Marí who after contacting those responsible spoke with her partner Maria José and both took the reins to contribute a part of culture to Mercat. Both Marí and Cholbi point out that "The goal is to encourage people to be part of the Food Market by providing culture or a different idea to this center xabiero".
At the moment, the exhibition will be open until the posts are occupied by a new business, an issue pending for about a year since in the last call the tender comxicotetion was abandoned because no proposals were submitted.
The Association of Sellers of Mercat have welcomed this initiative as it is a way to give better visibility and at least fill the void and fill this space with light. In addition, the works are on sale so that the citizens who visit the Mercat and the exhibition can obtain a work of art.
