On June 4, a complaint from an owner of a property in Xàbia alerted the local Civil Guard about a group of people trying to enter his house. With the support of the Local Police of the municipality and within the Operational Plan against the Illegal Occupation of Real Estate, the agents prevented the attempted occupation.
After the owner's notice, the agents went to the property, hearing knocks inside. It was a single-family home that was the complainant's residence, so the agents entered its interior.
Once inside, the agents proceeded to identify five people who were inside. They were four men between 38 and 57 years old and a 42-year-old woman. Some of them had a multitude of police records for crimes related to property. One of them even had a judicial notice of search, arrest and appearance in force, emanating from the Court of Instruction of Elda for a crime against road safety.
Given the clear intention of usurping the property, the agents prevented it, informed those identified of the commission of a crime of usurpation and urged them to leave the house, something to which they agreed without resisting.
Finally, all the alleged squatters have been arrested for the crimes of breaking and entering, damage and robbery with force, being handed over to the Guard Court of the Dénia Judicial District, who has decreed precautionary measures for all of them.
The agents carried out the corresponding visual inspection of the damage that the detainees had caused in the house when entering, and subsequently informed the owner that he should take the necessary measures so that this situation does not occur in the future.
