El Department of Culture of the Javea Town Hall offers guided and commented visits to the exhibition 'Sorolla in his paradise. The photographic album of the painter ', which is in the Casa del Cable until the January 16.

This exhibition, which is part of the commemorative program for the 125th anniversary of the painter's arrival in the municipality, will feature, on December 11 and 12, an additional and special activity, that of a guided visit by the historian David Gutiérrez Pulido.

To attend these guided tours, admission is free but prior registration is required, as capacity is limited. To sign up you just have to call the House of Culture 96 579 43 44. Visits on both days will be at 10:30 am.

The exhibition allows us to recreate the life of Joaquín Sorolla and the time in which he lived through photography, a genre to which he was a great fan and collector. In addition, through the images on display, the artist's creative environment and his presence in Spanish cultural environments are reconstructed between the eve of the 1868 Revolution and the Primo de Rivera dictatorship.

The exhibition, curated by the Sorolla Museum Foundation, has been specially adapted for Xàbia including a section with images of the painter in his stays in the town that inspired him so much.

Gutiérrez Pulido is a great connoisseur of the figure of Sorolla and of his experiences during his stays in Xàbia; He was the winner of the Vila de Xàbia research award for his project 'Xàbia in the life and painting of Joaquín Sorolla'.
