José Antonio Monfort, Chief Inspector of the Local Police and the Citizen Security Councilor, Pepa Gisbert, they held a meeting with the residents of Cansalades Park in which various issues related to security were discussed.
In it, the idea of neighborhood as an element of mutual protection was emphasized. Thus, as explained by José Antonio Monfort, all residents in the same area can provide a surveillance and assistance service that is very useful, especially for seniors who can live alone.
The unjustified suspension of an everyday act such as taking the dog for a walk in an urbanization can be the key for a neighbor to alert the security forces and that they intervene in time to avoid personal misfortune. Also, a community that is supportive or that is alert to possible extraneous activities offers fewer opportunities for crimes to occur.
This meeting is not the first of these characteristics held by the Local Police and the security council with neighbors of different urbanizations of Xàbia. It should be remembered that at the last Security Board, held in early September, it was published that Xàbia has a crime rate below the state and regional average.
