A total of 22.324 people have submitted an application to choose one of the 1.000 places that the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response has offered to hire auxiliaries of the beach contingency plans to deal with COVID-19.
Of the 22.324 applications, 10.759 correspond to the province of Valencia, where 348 places are offered. For the 418 positions offered for the beaches of Alicante there are 7.935 applicants while Castellón has 3.630 candidates for 234 places. In addition to the thousand people who will be selected for incorporation on June 24, a reserve bag of 250 will be created to supply possible resignations or resignations.
This initiative of the Ministry of Justice, Interior and Public Administration was presented by the President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, last Wednesday and consists of the hiring of 1.000 young people between 18 and 30 years of age who will be in charge of offering information on standards of protection to guarantee access to the coastline of the Valencian Community in complete safety.
Will Works the body in charge of making the selection according to criteria of permanence as a job applicant and, in the event of a tie, age among the applicants. Afterwards, the General Directorate of Public Function and the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response will be in charge of processing the contracts and training the chosen people, respectively.
As explained by the Minister of Justice, Gabriela Bravo, "the massive response that the offer has had shows that this initiative was necessary and timely" because "the beaches of the Valencian Community will thus be safer spaces for leisure and sport in the face of the threat of COVID-19, which has not ended and continues without treatment or vaccination, with which distancing is still the most effectively and also because these young people are going to help us all to take on this new reality which, logically, takes a little getting used to because we have to modify many of our behaviors ".
Also, thanks to this initiative "it is going to favor that these thousand young people, and especially those who have been without work for the longest time, collaborate in the economic recovery in a period of great activity in a tourist community such as Valencia" the consellera has said.
Contract conditions
The duration of the contract will be from June 24 to September 7 and these assistants will have to work 38 hours and 45 minutes a week, including weekends and alternating two days of work and two days off from 10 : 00 to 20:00 hours. The salary will be that corresponding to a C2 group of interim official of the Generalitat with its proportional part of vacations and extra payments, that is, about 1.385 euros gross per month.
"It is important to highlight that they are not lifeguards, ushers, or health personnel, or police, but informants who will help us all to enjoy the beaches, respecting the distance measures, the control of the capacity, and the use correct entry and exit to both the sand and the water ", the minister has concluded.
