Within the progrifo campaign carried out by the municipal water company of Xàbia, Amjasa, the second phase of actions aimed at the school public has begun. After the distribution of glass bottles for domestic use of tap water, Amjasa has met with the representatives of the schools to involve them and ask them for collaboration in the campaign Més aixeta i menys plàstic.
As already announced in the presentation of this campaign, Amjasa would also involve young people in the consumption of tap water during their stay in the school, also avoiding the use of plastic bottles. Also, this action has been joined by Javea Town Hall involving the youngest of the municipality in campaigns and municipal projects through the Consell dels Xiquets, who have begun designing the canteens that Amjasa will give to schoolchildren in Xàbia to drink tap water.
To point out that the municipal water company explained to the Consell children the ecological cost of bottled water and the advantages of directly drinking the water supplied in the faucets (both for the environment and for being more convenient and cheaper).
Actions of the Consell de Xiquets i Xiquetes
Over the last month, the Consell de Xiquets i Xiquetes has also participated in other initiatives. On the one hand, it participated in Exponadal within the stand of Children's Rights, in which they made their work known and encouraged other children to create similar participation bodies in their municipalities. They were also in a workshop on environmental awareness of the marine environment offered by the Oceanogràfic Foundation within the project they are developing in Xàbia.
