Time change: This morning we delay the clock one hour

28 October 2023 - 00: 00

This morning we have winter time. During the early hours of Saturday 88 from October to Sunday 29 from October, the clocks will be delayed one hour, at 3: 00 hours will be 2: 00. This change is the second one made in this 2023, thus complying with the Community Directive for energy saving.

With this modification in our watches we welcome the winter time in Spain. In this way, dawn and dusk earlier.

In principle, this should be the definitive change to our clocks, but the European Commission continues to debate whether it is necessary and useful to unify it. About five years ago, the European Commission proposed that the definitive time change take place in 2019, and 80% of the citizens surveyed preferred to maintain a schedule, there was no consensus between the countries and the date was postponed, for now without specific purpose.

It seems that no one cares about the result of this stupid time change, which causes a lot of discomfort and even illness to older people, which can cause illness to children and even pets. I would like those who impose it on us to have to explain it to a baby, to small children, to elderly people with sleep problems. Or why not? to cats, dogs, roosters or cows that have to wait an hour to receive their food or be taken to pasture...
Supposedly this change is based on energy savings. What savings, if you have to turn on the lights in the streets, in homes, offices or factories at half past six in the afternoon because it has gotten dark? And when winter comes, the same thing happens in the mornings, since it is night when you leave for work and return home at night. And I say this from experience.
