25 June 2016 - 11: 32

The Poble Nou de Benitatxell together with the town hall de Teulada e Hidraqua strongly spreads its campaign to raise awareness about the responsible use of water. The campaign, which will run throughout the summer, aims to publicize simple tips that allow large amounts of water to be saved at home and garden maintenance. The Communication Plan of both municipalities includes awareness through social networks and the media, billboards, information on digital panels, information brochures in four languages, talks and even theater for children "The drop matters".

The campaign brochures explain that we live in a region that has an exceptional climate with sunshine that we can enjoy more than 300 days a year. But they warn that this privileged time also has its drawbacks because, from time to time, dry periods that can lead to complicated situations live. Brochures propose several ways to save water in daily tasks that we do not realize the waste that pose and also noticeable on the bill.

Despite the fact that the summer is facing in a better situation than last year, 17.500 cubic meters a day can now be supplied compared to the 16.000 of the last tourist season, the Teulada El Poble Nou de Benitatxell Water Consortium together with Hidraqua, has made a strong commitment to raising awareness about the responsible use of water through this attractive and fresh campaign. Let us remember that the Governing Board of the Teulada-Benitatxell Water Consortium approved a new batch of works to expand the water resources of these two municipalities. The organization unanimously gave the green light to open twin wells to the current ones in Canor and Senija II. This will increase the extraction of water. In addition, the Pla well will be adapted and equipped and that of les Fonts will be incorporated into the supply network. These works will begin after the summer to avoid the risk of hindering the current water supply. They are valued at 1.038.000 euros.
