Benitatxell welcomes the Edificant Plan to rehabilitate and expand the CEIP Santa Maria Magdalena

El Town hall of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell has prepared a study of pathologies of the educational center of the town, the CEIP Santa María Magdalena, which has cost 11.000 euros, to adhere to the Edificant Plan. Now, it is waiting for the Ministry to prepare the needs report, which is mandatory to carry out the works project and which, as reported by the Ministry, will arrive within 15 days.

The Plan Edificant is the plan of shock of Conselleria against the school barracks and with an investment of more than 700 million to build more of 200 schools and institutes and to reform other 500.

The study of pathologies has ruled out that the center, despite its age, presents serious structural and structural problems, although corrosion has been detected in some points of the structure, fissures that generate humidity in the classroom of children and deficiencies in isolation from the ground in the prefabricated classrooms.

Once the Conselleria report has been issued, Benitatxell will have the green light to draft the rehabilitation and expansion project. It will be able to bid as soon as possible some works that will suppress the prefabricated classrooms and modernize a school built in 1932 and that, although with reforms, obviously, and like most schools, it has been small and needs new classrooms adapted to the current ones teaching methods.

Improvements made in the center by the City Council

In this term, the Department of Education, in charge of Myra Van't Hoff, has developed important
actions in improving the facilities and adapting them to the current regulations such as the renewal of the rubber in the playgrounds and paving the entrance in unevenness to avoid puddles. In addition, the City Council collaborated in the investment of 16.720 euros to finance the free textbooks and invested 17.000 euros in the replacement of LED lights throughout the public lighting of the center. It also allocated 27.000 euros to put into operation the municipal educational program that organizes free extra-curricular activities after the implementation of the continuous day and created a playground inside the campus.
