The mayor of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Josep Femenia, has announced the concession by the Provincial Council of Alicante of a subsidy of 83.706 euros to undertake the works of improvement in the efficiency of the lighting of the municipal facilities.
Femenia has indicated that "With this money the renewal and replacement of lighting in the municipality mainly for saving on the electricity bill will be addressed, but also to achieve a more sustainable environmentally village with decreasing light pollution and energy. While we become a more sustainable village savings light can be allocated to other priorities and services for residents".
The total budget of this work amounts to 88.111 euros and the part that will have to contribute the consistory will be 4.405 euros.
This grant is framed within the Provincial Energy Saving Plan 2015 of the Provincial Government, which was approved at the plenary session last February 12. This plan is included in the objectives committed by the European Union of efficiency and pollution reduction.
