Activities dedicated to "Tree Day", Organized by the Department of the Environment, El Poble Nou de Benitatxell will begin on Friday 26 February, with the projection of the video story"the man who Planted Trees"Jean Giono, at 18: 30 hours in the library. Activity screening of this story includes snack for participating children and a workshop entitled "Take care of the trees".
The programming will continue on Saturday, February 27, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lirios de the top del Sol. From there, all the participants will go on an excursion on foot to the burned area of Puig Llorença, to begin its reforestation.
It is scheduled to children and adults plant trees throughout the morning until 13: 00 hours. The Department of Environment has stated that it is important to take some lunch and water.
During the journey, small and elderly can ask their questions about species and development of vegetation to the environmental technician, Alicia Santacreu. In this sense, the importance of fire prevention will be highlighted. In addition, the responsibility for individual behavior will be emphasized, as well as the importance of a respectful reforestation development that guarantees diversity and the sustainability of the environment after a catastrophe.
The company VAPF, manager of the Cumbre del Sol, has done the cleanup and upgrading of the area to promote reforestation of the burnt part of Puig Llorença with new trees.
