Benitatxell hosts a free course on how to save water in the gardens

In the actions that the Town hall from El Poble Nou de Benitatxell promotes sustainability, experts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia will give a free course on saving water in Mediterranean gardens in which they will raise awareness about the importance of planting native and drought-resistant species.

The experts are already advising those responsible for the Biomoscatell project and they are now starting another line of work aimed at sustainability that will promote responsible water consumption in Mediterranean gardens. "The most remarkable thing for those who attend the course is that it is not a simple gardening workshop but a step will be taken in which the participants will learn to design a sustainable garden in our area as well as know techniques of ecological control of plagues and diseases" the Councilor for Agriculture and the Environment, Manolo Segarra.

"This course is essential for professionals, from engineers to gardeners, but we also want to count on neighborhood associations and foreign residents to make them aware of the importance of demanding a sustainable garden design." Rafael Laborda, professor at the Universitat de Valéncia has pointed out.

The selection of species, the management of water, the use of sustainable vegetable coverings and the design of gardens will be some of the points to be addressed in this course given by experts Rafael Laborda, professor at the University of Valéncia, Andreu Romà, consulting engineer and Isabel Montavez, also a Technical Agricultural Engineer.

Under the title Ecological production of ornamental plant, this course, which will be from 11 to 20 in September, at 16 time: 30 to 19: 30 in Espai Molí, will also host practical workshops.
