Barceló: "The gradual increase in the arrival of vaccines is allowing us to be above 200.000 weekly doses"

The Department of Universal Health and Public Health plans to administer, this week, 213.834 doses of the Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca vaccines. Most of these doses will go to people born between 1942 and 1946 (106.750 doses of Pfizer) and between 1956 and 1958 (70.000 doses of AstraZeneca).

Another 17.000 doses, in this case of Moderna, will go to people with risky conditions and preventive medicine services. The rest, until the total is completed, are second doses that correspond to that week and to small groups that were pending of groups that have already been vaccinated and that had active infections or that are new admissions.

In the case of the groups of the age groups that are joining the vaccination plan, it is very important to note that they should not go to the vaccination point if they do not have the SMS or a summons phone call.

The Councilor for Universal Health, Ana Barceló, stressed that this forecast of administering more than 200.000 weekly doses "brings us closer to the goal of immunizing 70% of Valencians at the end of the summer, a possibility that is due" to the gradual increase in the vials that are coming to us every week ".

Barceló has also been satisfied with how the vaccination process is going, since "the collaboration of citizens and the efforts of the health teams are allowing such complex planning to function normally".

The councilor recalled that all the vaccines that are being administered have a high percentage of effectiveness that, "in all cases, exceeds the minimum risks that, like any medication, they have. The councilor, who will be vaccinated in her age group this next week with AstraZeneca, has "encouraged all citizens to get vaccinated, both to avoid infection and to protect the rest of the population."
