IES students 1 Number of Jávea presented their findings of the project to create a simulated hotel company

The 1 Institute of Xàbia presented the conclusions of the "COOPSANTJOAN" project, a business simulation carried out by the students of the 1r FP course. Basic Administrative Services under the coordination of Professor Inma Navarro.

The event was attended by several councilors, business representatives and collaborators as the association of restaurateurs. This project has been based on the fictitious constitution of a hotel-restaurant aimed at tourism and gastronomy, with the trade name of "COOPSANTJOAN", located on the road to Vall de Ebo.

Within this company, each student took on a role and was organized under the organization of a social cooperative, so knowing this legal form that does not require a minimum capital to constitute itself, it has limited responsibility and seeks integration with the environment and cohesion Social.

The teacher herself explained that this initiative has improved the capabilities of students in terms of reading comprehension, teamwork, planning, organization, coordination and numerical calculation.

Tutor expects more funds to generalize these experiences to more students, "who will be the entrepreneurs of the future" in future courses.

The director of the IES, Vicent Chorro, said that this project has been possible thanks to financial aid for the implementation of research projects and educational innovation on the development of the curriculum of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports (with the support of the Fund European Social Forum) and the Department of Education of the Javea Town HallSeveral organizations in the region and the families of students.

The director of the Department of Administration and Management of IES, Toni Estarca, agreed that this project has contributed to that throughout the school year, students have had an excellent performance.

El Mayor of Jávea, José Chulvi who he was present at the event supported this initiative linked to tourism and gastronomy, congratulating the students and teachers for the work done and demanding more support for similar activities in the future.
